Either we at 4K have been really busy or tardy, or both but we are due for an update on our company and what we have been up to over the past few months. After completion on the short film push,
this screened in Los Angeles at the 168 Film Festival. 4K Film Production produced a product for Big Rock Eddies commercial contest. With over 200 entries 4K was delighted to be chosen in the top 18.
The top 18 entries were screened June 1 2009 at the Jack Singer Concert Hall, in Calgary Alberta. 4K was pleased and excited to have our project screened at a gorgeous venue and meet with the other
finalist’s in the contest.
Starting in April 4K Film Production Inc. in conjunction with Carnival Productions embarked on pre-production for a Canadian feature film tilted, Eli Regrets. 4K Film Production is co-producing this
piece and shooting all of the principal photography on the Red One Camera. This is a feature length drama staring Sam Geza Hoeksema, and goes through Eli’s struggle and choices that he makes
about his love life and family. This film tackles many hardships and struggle faced by many young adults and is a compelling story about coming of age most teenagers go through. Currently the film is
50% in the can and the rough edit is starting to come together nicely.
In addition to Eli Regrets, 4K Film Production is shooting another independent feature titled Aborginal Zombie. Directed by Kevin Littlelight of Alberta, this film contains originality and is not
your average zombie film. We have been sworn to secrecy by Kevin “Littlelight” and cannot disclose that much about the film. 4K is impressed with the makeup that is not short of outstanding and
the ending has an epic fight between the protagonists and hockey zombies geared up on ice.
On May 12th we set out with Kyle Sanborn of MMTT Productions to a private invite only session at Sunshine Mountain outside of Banff Alberta. We had true V.I.P treatment with personal snowmobiles
and access to the mountain after it had closed. Kyle has been shooting action sport videos in Western Canada over the last few years, and has the talent to back up his ambition. Be on the lookout for
Mr. Sanborn next year as he takes his production value to the next level.
Our last project currently on the go is for Dukes Place LLC. This American based estate controls and operates the Duke Ellington Orchestra and continues the legacy of Duke Ellington and his music. In
July 2008 we traveled to New York, NY to produce a short documentary on the band after the recent passing of their drummer Rocky White. The estate, liked the product that 4K produced so much, that
on May 19th to May 29th they flew us and our Red Camera to China and Taiwan to produce an even longer piece. Duke Ellington and his continuing orchestra has played in dozen of countries around the
world, but his music had never graced China prior to this tour. Band Leader and executor, Paul Ellington, took the band to Shezen, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Tai Pei and Kaohsiung. 4K was there to
capture each and every performance and all the antics and brotherhood that goes on while traveling. The documentary covers the fun, comradery and the family mentality that the band has embraced
after traveling on the road for year in addition to the majestic sound of Duke Ellington.
Wow, that was a lot of news.
With all of these new intakes of projects, we have complied over 13 Tera Bytes of footage. We trying our best to produce some images for our website, and our demo reel is still very much in progress.
Best Regards

We met with Cam Christiansen of www.anlanda.com and shot some test footage in his massive full 360 degrees green screen and mocap facility. We shot some test footage of slow motion and 4k footage. We also shot a 360-dolly move. We love what Cam has to offer to the Calgary film community and if you find yourself in S.W Calgary we recommend you visit his studio. Stay tuned for a lot of demo and test footage to be added. Visit www.anlanda.com for more pictures and some on-site footage in Cam's Blog.
Warmly
